At 90nm and below, the Post Layout EDA tools need to deal with enormous increase in the volume of polygonal data (running into hundreds of GBs), increased complexity of geometrical operations to be carried out and a variety of co-existing Layout and Mask Data formats to support. NxCompare is a fast and versatile comparison tool that can be used to compare any two Layout or Mask databases. NxCompare is distributed processing application based on SoftJin's Nirmaan software development platform and deploys Nirmaan's high performance geometrical operations.The key benefit of NxCompare is its ability to do real fast geometrical comparison of any two databases, which may be in different formats, have different hierarchies or obtained from two completely different sources. NxCompare has unlimited data handling capacity (can handle hundreds of GBs of GDSII equivalent data) and using distributed computing can compare two databases of any size within couple of hours. The software includes features for easy and fast defect navigation, visual display, defect selection, defect classification, clustering, sophisticated CD analysis, analysis over multiple Inspections, Repeatability and Trend Analysis. These features along with automatic generation of reports, charts, graphs, image mosaics and paretos significantly improve the productivity of the mask inspection operators. NxDAT’s “open architecture” makes it easily extensible to support multiple Mask Inspection tools from different vendors.
