Post-Layout tools
SoftJin has expertise in developing post-layout tools, including Design for Manufacturability (DFM) tools for specific requirements of customers. SoftJin has expertise in techniques for handling huge IC layout/mask data and performing hierarchical and parallel processing on such data. We have developed fast computational geometry algorithms for performing Boolean and Geometrical Operations on the layout data. SoftJin has expertise in handling various layout data formats such as GDSII, OASIS, OpenAccess and E-beam data formats such as MEBES, JEOL, VSB-12 etc.SoftJin offers several re-usable EDA building blocks in this area. Nirmaan is a unique toolkit for post layout EDA tool developers, which accelerates development of optimized post layout EDA tools, including DFM/DFY tools. SoftJin has also released Anuvad, a GDSII-OASIS suite that includes GDSII/OASIS libraries and translators which help kick start OASIS based tool development. SoftJin also offers cross-format data comparison, data compression and data translation tools for several formats in the Layout and Mask data space.
SoftJin can develop customized post-layout tools including Mask Data Preparation, Rule Checking, RET (OPC/PSM), Critical Area Analysis, and Mask/Die data inspection.
SoftJin also has a wide experience of projects handled in the area of system software development for the semiconductor fabrication equipment industry. SoftJin's strengths in the area of large data size processing enable us to build systems with the challenging performance requirements of these equipment, especially those related to Lithography and Inspection.
Some of our past projects in this domain include:
- Development of a fast, photo-mask data Preparation tool for the specific requirements of a Japanese semiconductor major.

- Development of a custom Layout Profiler for a Taiwanese Foundry supporting GDSII, OASIS and MEBES format. This tool was developed on top of SoftJin's Nirmaan toolkit.
- Development of a Mask Data Preparation tool for OASIS.VSB format. This tool was developed on top of SoftJin's Nirmaan toolkit.
- Data Preparation Software for a maskless lithography equipment vendor for IC Packages. The software performed a variety of complex and real time geometrical operations on the Input Gerber data to convert it into the equipment specific frame data format.
