Physical Design Automation
Case Study
Semi-Automatic In-Place Optimization
We engaged with a large system house in Japan to deliver customized tools for the back-end design flow.
Cell characterization Tool
We developed cell characterization tools for a North American telecom giant that matched the exact procedure being used by the library developers.
In the Physical Design domain, SoftJin offers customized software development services for development of Physical Layout and Analysis tools. We have expertise in developing Floorplanners and automatic/interactive Placement and Routing tools. Learn more about our licensable Physical design tools targeted for Programmable Platforms. We could support Physical analysis by developing tools that do post layout parasitic extraction and delay calculation. We have expertise in developing automatic pad-to-pin mapping and IC Package Layout tools. We engaged with a large system house in Japan to deliver customized tools for the back-end design flow.

Some of our past projects in this domain include:
- Development of a Physical Design methodology and Physical design tools for a new, wafer level integration technology - This Involved development of customized Floorplanning, Clock Tree Synthesis and Placement tools that take best advantage of the new technology
- Development of an Automated Die Pad to Package Pin Assignment tool - The tool offers a combination of interactive and automated mechanism for Pad to Pin Assignment.
- Point to Point Router for semi-automatic Routing of special wide wired signals
- Topological All-Angle Router for Routing of BGA/PGA Packages
- Development of an Automated Floorplanner with Interactive and incremental floorplanning capabilities. The congestion-aware Floorplanner also included block partitioning and global routing based pin assignment.
- Migration of a customer's Physical Design flow onto an OpenAccess based flow - This included migrating some of customer's internal tools to natively support OpenAccess.
